Absolutely not a new observation but i love that the toki pona word for animal, “soweli,” is written like this
fuck man that sure is
i showed this post to my boyfriend last time i saw it (because hes a linguistics nerd in general and a toki pona nerd in specific) and i am delighted to inform everyone that all the words for various types of animals are little fuckin dudes
I see these types of comments a lot so id just like to mention
Its not a coincidence!
Pretty much all of toki pona’s vocabulary comes from other languages, so if a word’s the same in toki pona as some other language, it’s probably related
In this case it’s the exact same, but sometimes it can be a bit more obscure (EX: waso (French oisuea,) lukin (English looking,) etc.)
i’m here to let you know your sentence long post did not account for every single human experience. please delete it immediately and apologize with tears
The mental shift between realising this is animated.
there are so many things great about this aside from how hardcore this mosh pit is
- the shield that gets launched into the stratosphere as soon as the armies collide - the guy on the left side who somehow manages to do a complete 180 in all of the mayhem and dives out of frame -the guy on the right side who decides not to get involved and runs right past the camera - the final dude who trips in the least natural way possible
Finally CGI has advanced far enough that we have the ending to Monty Python and the Holy Grail that we deserve
